TEMBA "Dimension X feat. MIYACHI" Music Video
Rethinking the Meaning of Success
When we become too focused on acquiring things, we risk losing sight of what truly holds value. Jewelry, cars, and stacks of cash are not the only symbols of success. Ideas and skills can carry just as much value.
Fast Rap and Japanese Aesthetics
The video is built around the pleasure of experiencing fast rap and technical skill itself, while incorporating elements of Japanese culture and traditional aesthetics to create a distinct visual identity. Drawing on the playfulness of the lyrics and the appeal of the flow, we collaged Japanese motifs in sync with the music—kanji graphics, tatami rooms, classrooms, shuriken, maneki-neko, and Japanese cityscapes—creating a rhythmic visual language that allows the audience to feel both the technique and the pleasure of the performance.
Story & Setting
TEMBA is a “Strange Ninja” hiding in modern-day Tokyo. From his mouth pour words like treasure—his thoughts and beliefs given form. Though he possesses the ability to move freely through time and space, he remains hidden in the shadows, waiting for the moment to come. MIYACHI is a modern-day jeweler, selling precious stones as the symbols of value people desire. Yet he himself knows the truth: the jewels do not hold any intrinsic value on their own.
